The DSM Biotechnology Center (DBC) is the primary location for biotechnological Research and Development at DSM and it is responsible for realization of biotech innovations, developments of new products and implementation of cost effective production processes. In order to be a global Biotech competence leader, DBC successfully strives to be connected optimally to external scientific networks, supporting and co-creating DSM’s Bright Science image and agenda for a sustainable world.
Your task as a technician/test leader of sensory panels is to prepare, execute and report routine sensory tests with the Quality Control panel. You will be responsible for collecting the samples, organizing the panels (contacting panel members, training and maintenance of the panels) and on-time delivery of the results. The results of the panel tests are contributing to sample release of production samples and other business requests.
Additionally, you will support your sensory colleagues with other tests performed with both our external and internal sensory panels.
You will be presenting your work within your own work group and scientific competence field (Sensory).
You have a B.Sc. or equivalent degree in one of the following areas: Food & Business, Food Technology or Nutrition.You have affinity and possibly some years of experience of working with sensory panels, you worked preferably with EyeQuestion software and have basic knowledge of statistics. Preferably you also have the ‘NIMA/MOA sensorisch onderzoeker A’ degree.
Most preferably, you are familiar with one of our application fields such as savory. We are looking for someone with plenty of initiative to maintain and develop the sensory panels, a person, who likes to learn new things, is a team player and has good communication capabilities (Dutch and English). As a professional you are eager to use the experiences of fellow professionals in the sensory and product development competence area, have customer focus and you are open to share knowledge with your colleagues. Your personality characteristics include result driven and flexible.
The Sensory group
The Sensory group of ABC consists of one Sensory Scientist, two Sensory specialists/Panel leaders and one Test Leader. As a new member of the team you will be working closely to your sensory colleagues to support the sensory panels at DBC. You will get involved in projects related to different businesses such as Savory, Dairy etc. Furthermore, you will be involved in building up a broader DSM sensory platform together with your Sensory and Principal Scientists.
