Software Architect -Marel

Scope and Authority

The Software Architect participates in designing and implementing Software that supports Marels vision of transforming the way food is processed, in collaboration with the customer.

Main Tasks

• Participate in the design, implementation, and testing of software modules and software features
• Analyze requirements and write design specifications for software modules and software features
• Contribute to team collaboration and build team spirit
• This role may also include some customer-site work related to new product releases, support, and training of other employees

Skills and Abilities

• Good understanding of database operations
• Good design and coding skills with the ability to pick up new languages, tools, and design patterns
• Familiar with Agile software development frameworks
• Good groundings in source control management, i.e. Git
• Ability to work effectively in teams
• Result-driven with good analytical skills

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar, a Master’s degree in relevant fields is a plus or comparable work experience and knowledge
• Experience in software development
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable communicating with customers
• Experience with and comfort working in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage
• The job may require some traveling
