Project Engineer Mechanical – DSM

The Challenge

As the project engineer, you are contributing to the plants’ optimization and improvement, executing and coordinating projects to establish safe design, operation, optimization, plant stability and progress of production plants. By providing broad and in-depth project engineering expertise in your field in all phases of the projects. in this role, you will report to the Sr. Project & Portfolio manager.

The Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the input of appropriate professional engineering knowledge in your field in all phases of projects. For specific monodisciplinary projects in  your field of expertise, you will all lead the projects yourself
• You ensure that projects run within budget, on time and accident-free
• Take on-time proactive, corrective actions with quality, SHE or costs are at stake
• Provide engineering expertise in large capital and improvement projects
• The document, file and ensure don’t time accurate communication with the stakeholders
• Responsible for and leading contractors
• Ensure the integrity of process and equipment in terms of SHE and Q as project result
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the executed projects and define corrective actions if necessary
• Promote a positive SHE mindset internal and external in compliance with all regulations and a proactive approach towards SHE, focused on monitoring unsafe situations
• Support the project managers
• Responsible to work according to the determined Life Saving Rules

The Ideal

You will match with this role if you have:

• Bachelor/Master level education in Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in operations, engineering, or project engineering within the process industry and proven skills in project engineering
• Experience in project management in an operational environment preferable as project leader Technical engineering knowledge of the plant and the process
• Good command of Dutch, German and English languages of willing to learn
• Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
