Maintenance Engineer – DSM Delft

As a Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for identifying maintenance needs and translate these into maintenance plans in accordance with the plant/site operational year plan. The objective is to maintain the integrity and continuity of the mechanical installations within the production areas.

The Position

Your responsibilities include:

  • Define and implement maintenance plans including required spare parts, in co-operation with the maintenance management team members
  • Analyse and evaluate maintenance work, production downtime, quality- and safety performance to implement improvement
  • Support the maintenance field planner/supervisor in detailing and specifying maintenance requests from the production team; translating this into a technical work plan
  • Examine mechanic failures (including trends and historical data) and identify preventative measures
  • Advise the maintenance technicians in executing the maintenance work
  • Provide input for the investment year plan
  • Deliver technical maintenance know-how in projects on the request of the project leader
  • Represent the maintenance discipline in various meetings, e.g. FMECA (Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis), RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Analysis)
  • Ensure technical documentation to be ‘as built’ and compliant with the applicable regulations
  • Monitor the development of internal and external guidelines, regulations standards and ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance
  • Monitor developments in the respective area (e.g. mechanical, electrical, process control) and ensure the availability of the required level of know-how
  • Execute the job within the applicable QESH structure and system, provide proposals for further enhancing the QESH structure and system and contribute to ensure a safe and healthy working place for employees

Candidate Profile

  • At least a Bachelor / HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of workflow processes and process safety in an industrial environment
  • VCA VOL and a strong focus on SHE
  • You focus on the (internal) customer and the outside world. Have the desire to improve, be proactive, innovate and change, are a team player, result-oriented, analytical, accurate, responsible person and have a problem-solving mindset
  • Process knowledge in the Food sector
  • Knowledge of technology, logistics, environment, safety, health and safety legislation and installations
  • Good written and oral expression in Dutch and English
