Lead Do Maintenance – DSM Engineering Materials

The challenge

You will be a major part of the Grow2Win strategy by leading and developing the change process of the current Do-Maintenance department into a World Class example. Ensure the high-performance execution of all the activities and realize a Happy People, World Class Safety and Continuous Improvement culture.

The key responsibilities

  • Inspire, lead, manage and coach a team of appr. 32 maintenance professionals to a World Class Do-Maintenance organization
  • Responsible for an engaged and qualified workforce for now and in the future
  • Own, develop, and realize the maintenance plan, within the manufacturing plan and Manufex processes
  • Manage and monitor the execution of the maintenance plan and take corrective actions, in order to achieve the results
  • Define, implement and steer on performance indicators and ensure periodical reporting of actual performance against predefined targets
  • Oversee, monitor and evaluate external contractors
  • Stimulate Continuous improvement in the Do-Maintenance organization and define and execute operational improvement programs
  • Execute HR and QESH processes in line with DSM and BG/BU guidelines and systems, in order to guarantee a workforce that meets current and future requirements in terms of quality and quantity
  • Prepare and manage the yearly cost budget for the Do-Maintenance department
  • Execute HR policies and procedures in the team (appraisal, development, training, records of attendance, sickness, overtime, etc.)
  • Promote a positive SHE attitude internal and external in compliance with all regulations, and a proactive approach towards SHE, focused on preventing unsafe situations

The ideal

You will match with this role if you have:

  • Bachelor level of education or work experience, preferably in a related field.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills
  • A Continuous Improvement and SHE mindset (I Care, We Care) and able to lead by example
  • At least 3-5 years of leadership experience in maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Do-Maintenance process
  • A good command in Dutch and English or willing to learn
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • A good overview of plant performance drivers in order to prioritize the work.

You will perform well in this role if you are:

  • able to engage with your workforce and lead them on the journey of change;
  • a strong communicator on all levels and a sparring partner for stakeholders, peers and operational management;
  • building strong relationships with disciplines and stakeholders with different backgrounds in order to realize an effective approach;
  • driven to deliver results with a customer focus.
